2024 Feasts & New Moon Dates
Following are dates of the Biblically commanded Feasts for 2024.* These are not only Jewish Holy Days. In Leviticus 23:2 Yehovah tells us, “These are My appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of the Lord, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.” They are Yehovah’s specially appointed times available to all His followers. Mark your calendar and plan ahead to participate with Yehovah on His Holy Days!
On the Hebrew/Biblical calendar a day begins and ends at dusk (See Genesis 1).
Accordingly, each of these Feasts begins and ends at sundown.
- Passover: April 21-22, 2024
- Feast of Unleavened Breads: April 22-29, 2024
- Feast of First Fruits: April 27-28, 2024
- Counting the Omer: April 28 – June 15, 2024
- Feast of Weeks/Pentecost: June 15-16, 2024
- Feast of Trumpets: October 2-3, 2024
- Day of Atonement: October 11-12, 2024
- Feast of Tabernacles/Shelters/Harvest: October 16-23, 2024
- The Eighth Day: October 23-24, 2024
*These dates are taken from a calendar synchronized to start each Hebrew month on the new moon as it would be seen from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. This new moon is calculated using lunar phase software that can pinpoint the moon’s position and phase at any time from any latitude/longitude on earth. In some cases they do not match the dates determined by Jewish Rabbis. There are other correct ways to reckon the dates.

Recommended Hebrew Calendar
The Feasts are determined by the Hebrew calendar. It is helpful to keep a Messianic Hebrew calendar on hand. I recommend the one put out by Lion and Lamb Ministries. It is beautifully designed and overlays the Hebrew and Gregorian calendars. It includes color-coded Sabbaths, New Moons and Feasts and the weekly Torah and Messianic scripture portions.

The Hebrew calendar is based on the lunar cycle. The first evening the new moon of each cycle can be observed in the sky denotes the beginning of a new month on the Hebrew calendar. According to the Bible, new moons are also cause for celebration.

I do look at Devorah’s Date Tree, however I’ve found that the dates where I am differ because the sunset and moonrise dates are different in my location (I’m in the US). Sometimes it is a big enough difference that we cannot sight the moon the same day.

I’ve been following your new moon dates & the feasts dates as I found them to be quite accurate. Jerusalem is within the same time zone as Nairobi Kenya and so I usually confirm your new moon dates by physically sighting the new Crescent. That is the reason I say the moon dates are quite accurate.
I also used to download the calendar from the Lion and the Lamb ministries through your recommendation from sight. It was all well but this year is like they are using a different calendar the are calling it zandok calendar. Could be you can send some more light on it to me.

Thank you so much, Benson. I appreciate your diligence and the confirmation of my understanding of the dates. This year I also found the Lion and Lamb calendar to have some dates that did not match up with the way they normally reconcile them. In those cases I used dates consistent with the Word and the way Lion and Lamb has calculated them before. I have heard they were changing their source in the future.
In any case, it serves us well to know how to calculate them ourselves. I also track a site called Deborah’s Date Tree, which inspects the barley and the monthly moon in Israel. God is so good to us!!

He means a leap year on the Hebrew calendar, in which there are 13 months instead of the usual 12.

Yes! Shalom! I am the facilitator of Timekeepers group at Judah’s Tent and we noticed the count this year by other assemblies were WAY OFF. Not adhering to the true Vernal Equinox (16 MAR 2024) or the fact that we’re on a shanah me’uberet (pregnant year). So the jews and some churches are using sept. 16 based on the hillel calendar instead of God’s holy calendar. Would I be correct in saying this?

Hello David, some are using the 16th, possibly based on the Hillel calendar or other methods of calculation. There are various ways to reckon the Hebrew calendar. It’s nearly impossible to put out a Hebrew calendar ahead of time, because the sliver of the moon needs to be sighted in order to confirm the first day of a month. (The dates I have on this site are taken from the Lion & Lamb Calendar, which our congregation uses for planning and to gather in unity.) I have heard that this year the moon was not sighted in Jerusalem until the 16th, which would make Tishrei 1 Sept. 16-17. I look forward to the time when we are all celebrating YHVH’s special days in one accord.

Answer to question asked about observance from where we are on the globe vs Jerusalem new moon sightings, if we follow YHWH’s directions, it will be different from Jerusalem’s sightings. Then if you think about it, YHWH’s ways are perfect. It does fulfills Rev where the heavenly beings praise holy holy holy perpetually because the time zones around the world will mesh together as one anointed light sighting in the midst of the universe! This belief opposes Messianics, and brother Judah. But we don’t divide, we find out eventually. On the potters wheel of YHWH, I haven’t been spanked or reprimanded on the matter.

If the Bible Sabbath is observed from sunset to sunset where we are located. Is it possible the feast days must be observed were ever we are on earth with regards to the new moon sighting at our location? Therefore, the calendar of the Messianic Sabbath for Jerusalem would not be the same dates in our location? You’re calculation cites rabbinic law. The facts on the ground are that men knew the length of a lunar month and didn’t require that it be sighted at all. The Instruction says the barley must be near ripe.

Disagree with festival dates. Follow the new moon , the word and not mans traditions
Dt 16:1 we are commanded:
“Keep the month of the Aviv and make the Passover (sacrifice) to Yehovah your God at night, because in the month of the Aviv, Yehovah your God took you out of Egypt”.

“These are the appointed feasts of Adonai, holy convocations which you are to proclaim in their appointed season. 5 During the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month in the evening, is Adonai’s Passover. 6 On the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Matzot to Adonai. For seven days you are to eat matzah. 7 On the first day you are to have a holy convocation and you should do no regular work. 8 Instead you are to present an offering made by fire to Adonai for seven days. On the seventh day is a holy convocation, when you are to do no regular work.”

I watched the video on Saturday or Sunday regarding the Sabbath and biblically neither day is actually correct for in the Bible all is based on the new moon. In biblical times they did not have our current calendar. The moon is God’s time and our calendar is man’s timing; so are we not to observe sabbath according to God’s signs and seasons?

The 7 Day week has remained the same, regardless of which calendar is used. The 7th Day Sabbath always has and still begins on Friday at sundown and ends Saturday at Sundown. Blessings…

Ask for sins of the Fathers to be removed from your family line almost like generational sins from your grandfathers all the way to Christ. Then it’s a new beginning.
For me if I see one gray hair on my head, I remember we are to remind God of this sin being removed and then my hair goes back to its original color again at the root. 💜👍🏼🙏

I like the new moon calendar as it helps me to know when its a new moon and i pray . I have learnt at church about declaring the new day at 18 :00hours ,new week on Fridays at 18hours . Hello Kilian, I would be interested in what prompted your question. Have you seen this somewhere or find a way to calculate it as overlapping? Following Leviticus 23, which stipulates when the appointed times are, the Feast of Unleavened Bread always starts as Passover is ending: vs. 5-6 “On the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is the Lord’s Passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord;” This is the instruction I follow. How have you done it?

Jewish calendar is false. Exodus 12. Abib is head of year. Abib means ripe barley. We don’t know when Passover will be because barley isn’t ripe. Simple. All Jews and Messianic and Sabbath keepers have never observed the correct feast days because they have not observed the barley to determine the accuracy of when Passover falls.

I do try to keep the Feast days but I don’t know what is right because everyone gives different dates. What are the correct dates and times. Could you tell me how to conduct a Passover meal.

There are three legitimate ways of reckoning the Hebrew dates. The dates listed on my website follow a calendar that is calculated to begin each Hebrew month as a new moon would be seen from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Even within our small congregation there are disagreements on which calendar is correct because all can be right, but we’ve had to agree on one, so that we are all in unity during the feasts. You will have to seek YHVH and determine which you will follow. Meanwhile, because the Bible is not definitive on the matter, we can give each other grace, since we will not really be sure until Yeshua returns and teaches us truth.
For a simple Passover meal, I recommend this booklet, which will walk you through each item that is part of a messianic seder. You don’t have to have all the accessories that are traditionally used, but if you want a complete set, this is a good one.

Where did Jesus (Yeshua) change or do away with the festivals and-or the laws?
We have always had grace since Adam. We have forgiveness of sins by repentance, believing and obedience of Yeshua.
Are we followers of the way by Yeshua who was a Jew, lived and obeyed Torah?
Or followers of a Jesus taught today that is a sinner, one that observes pagan holidays, eats unclean food, does not keep Saturday Sabbath, And promotes unity worship with sinner, instead of unity with the father as he does. Hi- the Greek used in NT refers to a spiritual temple. You will see upon study OT Greek refers to physical building. Yeshua taught the temple will be rebuilt in you. Remember too when he said he would tear down the temple and rebuild in 3days. The temple in rev and all else in NT all are spiritual temple. Why should you study Greek? The first biblical language was hebrew & aramaic. Translation from hebrew to greek then back to english or hebrew loose cultural meaning and clarity. My questions were not answered. And were really meant as rhetorical. People today especially following greek and the many translations are following false prophets. Look to before Yehusha’s ascension, when He instructed for the disciples to wait for the helper to arrive. The helper, the Ruach HaChodesh, did arrive on Feast of Shavuot which is the culmination of Feast of Weeks, otherwise known as counting down the Omer. So, they literally had to count or number their days in order to know when to be in Yerusalem for the pilgrimage feast of Shavuot. Besides which, Yehusha commanded them to wait during that time of “counting the Omer.”

If you do a search on the word “covenant” in the Bible, you will find very specific covenants the Lord made with specific people, that carry on to this day, each one building on the previous ones. Many categorize them into 7 or sometimes 8 covenants:
The Edenic
The Adamic
The Noahic
The Abrahamic
The Land
The Mosaic
The Davidic
The New
If you do a search on “covenant of grace” in the Bible, you will not find it. This is a man-made interpretation. There is no need for a covenant of grace, because there is grace throughout everything the Lord has done from the beginning of creation. Every covenant demonstrates his grace, in that he – despite his absolute holiness – pursues a relationship with mankind.
The Feasts especially testify to his grace toward us in that he is asking us to come near to him as he is drawing near to us at those times. As a Christian, it is even more clear how the Feasts commemorate and celebrate everything we believe in:
Jesus’ death
Jesus’ righteousness
Jesus’ resurrection
The infilling of the Holy Spirit
Jesus’ second coming
Jesus’ blood atonement
The Wedding Feast of the Lamb
The New Heaven & New Earth
This blog post spells it out very simply, so that you can see the connection between Jesus and the Feasts.
I encourage you to rethink the Feasts and the idea of a “covenant of grace” that would do away with them.

We’re not required right now to follow any but those who keep the weekly Sabbath holy will be blessed of God. Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath. We will keep the Feast of Tabernacles during His millennium reign on earth because that’s what that feast represents. Our new covenant through Jesus is a “covenant of grace” only because we are saved by grace through faith, but it is a “new” covenant by the blood of the Lamb of God. The Jews had the TaNaK (Torah- Law/Instruction, Nebohim- the Prophets, Ketovim- the Writings… T.N.K.). The biggest thing to remember is that Jesus said that the sheep entered into God’s rest because of the sacrificial love they showed in giving people water, food, clothing and their time. Those who prophesied or healed or did ministry in Jesus name without showing love, didn’t enter in. God is love. God is light. He’s not interested so much in your sacrifices and feasts as He is interested in whether you demonstrate mercy, love and righteousness. Understand and practice the Hebrew word CHeSeD (covenantal continuous committed compassions) oft translated as mercy, love, lovingkindness and kindness, and you’ll be on your way to a very beautiful relationship with God. Remember, the Kingdom of God is a matter of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Practice true CHeSeD and you’ll practice all of these three.
Please remember that the Jews were “tutored” by the TaNaK, but most Christians haven’t been and, thus, don’t understand the teaching the Old Testament/ TaNaK provides about Jesus nor did most Christians understand the Word of God, including prophecies, that Jesus fulfilled. Observing the feasts for the sake of knowing our Lord more intimately is a wonderful thing to do. God has hidden many secrets for us to uncover in the TaNaK and it is for our glory to seek them out.

Well said. I may not understand your statement about Jesus said the sheep entered the rest because of the sacrificial love they showed when…… I looked, but could not verify. This is the scriptural that witnesses in my spirit.

What is the covenant of grace? To most it is nothing but a license to sin, a way to get around to obedience to the written word. Remember, the Written Word is nothing more or less than the Living Word. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,and the Word was God. God demands Obedience . Obedience is better than sacrafice. Don’t let your ‘grace’ allow you to sin. Don’t let your ‘grace’ cause you to miss the mark. Sin is sin no matter how you do it whether it’s done in ‘grace’ or under law.

We are all in the flesh and therefore we all fall short so we repent ! No man is perfect! The last supper Jesus said do this in remembrance of me ! I think we should no make a religion out of days and weeks or moons ect.. Jesus became our Passover! So I worship him every day. Is Jesus not the LORD. Father and Son worship the same way. We as Christians must not follow the holy days of Nimrod but must follow the LORDS holy days. Pagan beliefs are steeped in Christianity. The sleepers must awaken to the truth and follow it in spirit and in deed. Give to Ceaser what’s belongs to him and give to the LORD what belongs to Him. Who do you belong to? Hello Stella…I grew up in an Seventh-day Adventist home and went to their schools through my senior year. Although they have some of it right…like the Sabbath and observance of the dietary instructions…they ignore the commanded observance of Yahovah’s feasts and celebrate the pagan based holidays of Christmas and Easter. I left the Adventist denomination because Yahovah’s instructions never change…He is the same yesterday, today and forever. His Word is eternal. His TORAH is our instruction manual for life. Everything we need to know about family, marriage, worship of our creator, ethics, morality, integrity, etc. can be found in Torah. The TORAH is our foundation of belief. Like Joshua said, “but I and my house, we will serve YHWH”. Yahshua taught TORAH.

I am an adventist .
I have just discovered that the 7 th day sabbath is determined from the moon cycle and not from the continuosly cycling papal/ pagan / Gregorian week which fixes the Sabbath on Saturday.
This is supported by Genesis1:14 Exodus 16 , 1 Samuel 20: 24 and 27
Psalm 104:19 and Isaiah 66: 23.
May you put me in contact with people who use the biblical mosaic Jewish calendar to determine the 7 th day sabbath.
The biblical sabbath is not fixed on Saturday but changes every month depending on which day is the new moon.
New moon : day 1 : feasts non working day
Day 2-7 6 working days
Day 8 : sabbath.

I am Jewish And know alot about the feasts.
There are Jews who do not keep feasts
There are those who do not like their Jewish religion .
I am not a Jewish Messianic but am Jewish.
However I am a believer of the Messiah filled with his holy spirit and therefore I am strictly a follower of the Messiah lead only by his spirit.
I came out of the religion of the cult of Judaism to know my L-rd and my salvation
The L-rd stripped off the veil that kept me blind from seeing the real truth in the Messiah and his redemption by his own sacrifice and the shedding of his own blood making atonement for my sins. Everything in what I was brought up to believe was a lie handed down by our fathers ( rabbis) were lies.
They themselves deny the Messiah and hate his name, they will persecute anyone who believes in him.
Beware of false teachings I did not receive his holy spirit by the fact of doing my own righteous works or rituals ; but, by faith in him alone. This was the faith once being delivered to the saints ( Yah true people ).Meaning : it’s only through faith in the Messiah that one can only have a true relationship with G-d ( Yah ).that relationship only comes through the spirit of G-d that dwell in you not by doing any kind of self righteous works like water librations, and etc.nor by rituals
I know about this things being born a Jew by Jewish parents.
Y’shua himself said beware of the leaven of the Pharisees = ( later the religion of the Pharisees was changed to be called Judaism )
The words Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees meant beware of the false teachings of Rabbis who call themselves teachers of the law, but it applies to their own teachings which they added and replaced there teachings as G,-d law which became a heavy yoke and a heavy burdens to fulfill everyday what is called their law .is referring to the ” Peh ba’al ” . This is what is known as their oral law .

Mary, First I recommend this calendar, but if you do not have it, you can just use the Gregorian dates listed on this page.
All of the commands for observing them are included on this chart.
If it is too long a drive to join with a Messianic congregation for these feasts, I recommend one of the resources on this page. These will walk you through how to observe the feasts and what the steps represent for us today.
Take small steps, just do what you can your first year. My first year I just marked the days on my calendar, and on those days I took the time to study what that specific feast meant and how to observe it. God will honor your desire to obey him and draw near to him on his special days, and He will reveal more of himself to you.

Hello, this is my first encounter with this site. I am trying to follow the Jewish calendar, not sure how and where to start. I would also like to follow daily bible readings for messianic Jews, can you recommend a site? Lastly, are the seventh day adventists then right about their worship system? or do they have it wrong somewhere too?

I recommend Lion & Lamb Ministries website for the weekly Bible readings, which follows the Jewish synagogues, plus relevant readings from the Apostolic Scriptures.
For commentary on these weekly readings, I recommend Restoration of Torah downloads. They are perfect if you are coming from a Christian theology.
The Lion & Lamb Ministries calendar includes color-coded Sabbaths, New Moons and Feasts and the weekly Torah and Apostolic scripture portions.
I am not familiar with all of the 7th Day Adventists teachings and beliefs, so I cannot comment on that. Chances are, once you’ve studied with these resources for awhile, you won’t worry about what they believe anymore. You will have the truth and know it, and any errors in their theology will come to light. Ask YHVH to share his deeper truths with you directly vs. seeking it from a specific denomination.
May he bless you on your journey and reveal himself to you as you draw near to him alone.

Yeah same here. Micheal lake is really really God -ordained I believe. I had been listening to Sunday preachers my entire life when I was just a church goer. But when I got truly saved and truly yearned for God, HE led me right to him. Almost immediately my whole theology changed and I saw the word of God not just Mathew to revelation but Genesis to revelation. It’s a beautiful book.

THE CREATION CALENDAR that begins and ends in the month of Aviv, which takes place right before Passover, shows that the Hebrew year that just ended was 5776, not 5777. So as of Sunday, March 18, 2018, we are now in the Hebrew year of 5777.
Apparently four different calendars are followed: TWO Creation Calendars and TWO Civic Calendars. The father of lies wants us to be lost in time (John 8:44). So for now, concerning where we are in time, there is no agreement about this.
Because there are four Hebrew Calendars, there is actually a 2 AND ½ YEAR WINDOW for a possible year. How? Both THE CREATION and THE CIVIC CALENDAR have two versions. Here’s how these four different Hebrew Calendars mark the time as of sunset, March 18, 2018:
CREATION CALENDAR (Beginning on Feast of Trumpets 2017): Year 5777
CIVIC CALENDAR (Beginning on Feast of Trumpets 2017): Year 5778
CREATION CALENDAR (Beginning on Aviv 2018): Year 5777
CIVIC CALENDAR (Beginning on Aviv 2018): Year 5778
Man created the acknowledgment of the seventh month as a type of New Year’s Day, not God. The Creator God actually identifies “the beginning” (Hebrew: rosh) or “head of the year” to occur six months later: “This month shall be unto you THE BEGINNING OF MONTHS: it shall be THE FIRST MONTH of THE YEAR to you” (Exodus 12:2, emphasis mine). “To you” also means you and me today.
In line with what it says in the Bible, I will follow THE CREATION CALENDAR that begins in Aviv, and recognizes that the year 5776 ended on Aviv 2018. So as of sunset, March 18, 2018, we are now in the Hebrew year of 5777.

Thank you for writing me as I appreciate hearing from you. To start, I came to a decision about this subject last year from reading the Bible and studying certain writings from websites that published information on this topic, so believe we are in the year 5777, and this lasts until the First Hebrew month in 2019 (in the Spring). The Jubilee year is from the Day of Atonement 2017 until the next Atonement in 2018, which is still Hebrew year 5777.
Torahcalendar.com states in part that “The Creation Calendar is the 7000 year framework of time, integral to the design of the universe… God told Noah in Genesis 6:3 that after 120 Jubilee Years, or 6000 years, He would no longer strive with mortal man. At the end of the sixth millennium the Messiah will grant the gift of eternal life – the Age of Life to all who believe and obey Him.”
This is true; however, I have found no Creation Calendar based website that show the actual Hebrew year. This means they also won’t show if they think it might be a Jubilee year. One big reason probably stems from what happened in 2015. Many proclaimed 2015 was a Jubilee year, and made all these predictions only to be embarrassed when the year was over.
One website believes that Yeshua died and was resurrected in 17 AD, not 31 AD. They appear to prove this (although I haven’t looked deeply into this yet). They even show how 17 AD was a Jubilee year. Based on this belief, they created a chart that lists all 120 Jubilees, and lists in part 1917, 1967, and 2017. This looks to be correct, but they don’t seem to recognize that Jubilee years start on the Day of Atonement (in the Fall) even though the BIble states this. So 2017 is the 120th Jubilee since man’s creation–Amazing!
For basic calendar reliability that also includes the correct New Moon, I rely on renewedmoon.com. Here is the calendar page: http://www.renewedmoon.com/wall-calendar/biblical-month.htm.
There is a work called, “Mathematical Bias and the Biblical Calendar” written by Shawn Richardson. http://www.shawnrichardson.com/Mathematical-Bias-Observable-Biblical-Calendar/ – You can download a free PDF or read sections online. I have not read this entirely, but you may want to look at it to learn about the whole subject better.

Benny, the best way to get to what was actually written is to go back to the original vs. choosing one translation over another. I recommend this site to read the Hebrew translated to English verbatim. The Administrator is very humble in her comment. The reality is she may be right but some versions of the Bible are more corrupt than others and the NLT and the NIV head the class of corrupted Scriptures. Do not ever read them thinking your getting truth. ISR Scriptures is a great translation, but the bottom line is this. The day started at evening throughout history for the Israelite people and then the Jewish people and it has never been questioned…… except until recently by pagans living in exile using gentile Bible translations.

I sometimes question myself about the creation of day and no answer.
When observing time in different Countries there is always a difference. For instance When you are in South Africa the Time is Not the Same As When You are Anywhere in The United States of America, When the SUN SETS in South Africa, in America THE SUN RISES.
How can we observe the same day when we do not get a day/night at the same time. If you check your time where you are now and someone from another Continent, the time is not the same, some continents have a day light while another continent has a night.
And this to me sounds like someone Gets a Sunday While another has a Saturday or should I say Someone has a Friday mean while another has a Saturday.
I came to realise that until the Earth come together again there will be no answer…..

Mathews, I understand your question. You’re right, we won’t fully comprehend YHVH’s creation until he enlightens us, and maybe not even then.
Is. 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Adonai. 9 “As high as the sky is above the earth are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
One beautiful thing about the 24 time zones is that every hour of a Sabbath, for instance, someone in the world is just starting the Sabbath. Imagine from YHVH’s perspective every hour of the 24 a new group of people is dedicating that day to Him.
If all believers practice Ps. 5:3: “In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” prayer would be rising to YHVH continuously 24/7.
I like to think that I’m responsible for keeping the “wave” going in my time zone.

Paul is not talking about God’s commandments in Galatians. Galatians is a letter Paul is writing to a certain people known as Gauls. Their background was Druidism they never kept Torah or the laws of God before. In Druidism you have days and sabbaths that you keep as part of that pagan religion. Compare it to Paul’s other scriptures were he says the law of God is pure and right and just. Hope this helps you understand, it helped me. Always look at what people Paul is writing his letters to, same with Romans. Some people were vegetarians and did not eat any meat. But you read it and assume he is talking about pork.

The saying that people keep the Sabbath or feasts all in the same day is not so.
there are 4 hemispheres . east , south, west, and north, and includes the phases of the moon. The first to keep the feasts are those in the east. followed by the south , then the west, and the North.
As the earth orbits around the sun , day and night appear . its interesting; going down of the sun, and the coming up of the sun one in darkness and the other begins with light.

Christ coming from east to west is what came to my mind, as I am researching, no coincidence, Aviv and if there is any parallel with Christs coming. The reaping of the barley which Strong’s concordance defines: barley H8184 plant, grain , comes from H8175. To storm; by implication to shiver, fear- be afraid, be horribly afraid, fear, hurl as a storm, be tempestous, come like a whirlwind, take away as with a whirlwind. Christ harvests the wheat from the tares.
Also 2 Thess 2:3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the “falling away” comes first, and the man of sin, the son of perdition……Strong’s: G575 falling: away, seperation, departure, hereafter, forth etc.
G868: to remove, revolt, depart, draw, fall away etc.
I believe falling away is Apo Stasia in Greek.
God is amazing!! Things told prophets to “shut up” until latter days or end times being revealed at the crucial time. I am so blessed.

True. Over the centuries the Hebrew calendar has been calculated in various ways. I know of 3 ways that could all be right. I have chosen the one I use for the sake of unity among our congregation. Some have decided not to observe the Holy Days at all because they can’t be sure which day is right. I recommend you seek the Lord, then choose one of the calendars, but remain changeable as Yehovah teaches you.

Dear Administrator, You are correct. Recently, using an old Holy Days computer program, I went back in time to see if Trumpets ever fell on Friday, and to my amazement it didn’t. Then I read how the program works and there’s a “manmade” reason why Trumpets supposedly NEVER was on Friday. The creators of this program applied man’s rules to every date, even to the dates in the B.C. era. How could they presume that in King David’s day that these rules were adhered to especially when they didn’t even exist? In part, the Postponement Rules for Trumpets states: “If the Molad occurs at or after noon, Trumpets is postponed until the following day. If that causes Trumpets to fall on Sunday, Wednesday, or Friday, Trumpets is postponed an additional day (2 days total).” Yet even these rules were not applied to this most recent Trumpets because their calculations were already decided and showed that the New Moon Day would be on September 21, 2017, even though (as far as been reported) no witnesses saw the first light of the moon until early evening on September 22. King David said, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalms 11:3). Knowing the right days to correctly keep God’s Holy Days is crucial for those who want to obey Him. There is a great plan and purpose for all this, even allowing man to go astray for a certain time, but one day soon, God will correct everything in His way and time. I have a question I wish to present as gently as possible.
1. Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement): Is also deemed as “High Sabbath”.
2. Sabbath is traditionally set from Friday evening to Saturday evening.
If this be the case, wouldn’t the dates of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, truly be: September 29– September 30, 2017 which fall on the Sabbath?
We are new to these celebrations and just observed the Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets). We are attempting to be as YHWH commanded and veer away from any Babylonian practices (Rosh Hashanah), as YHWH instructed us to come out of Babylon and to not mix with pagan traditions.

Travis, the term “High Sabbath” is one that man has ascribed to the Feasts that include a Sabbath, as opposed to a weekly Sabbath that falls on the seventh day. The day and date of Yom Kippur is specified in Lev. 23:26-32:
26 The Lord said to Moses, 27 “The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. … 32 It is a day of Sabbath rest for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your Sabbath.”
When in doubt, I always recommend going only by the Bible and start with doing only as it says. Imagine you were the only one doing it and the Bible and the Holy Spirit were all you had. It is meant to be simple enough for anyone to do.

The beginning of a new day on the Hebrew calendar starts at sundown, so the Sabbath by our modern calendar begins Friday evening My Jewish friend told me that on Friday evening the family goes to the synagogue to study the Torah and worship together. After they go home, according to their teaching, the husband and wife put the children to bed and have close fellowship with each other. Saturday is a family day and they are not allowed to work or go anywhere. They share time of worship as a family unit and share time together as a family. Saturday is a day of total rest until sundown.
Scripture never calls Sabbath as a day to go to a worship service. It calls it a total Day of Rest. I don’t know how Christians got the idea that it was a day to go to church. Going to church is NOT a total day of rest. God calls the seventh day a day of REST. I believe that God intended for man to rest our bodies and minds on the Sabbath and to spend personal time with Him, not a day run to and fro and wear ourselves out. Yes, every person should have a day of rest. Worship and study as a church group should be on Friday evening, the beginning of Sabbath.
Over the years we have had a Friday night gathering for praise, prayer and Bible study in homes. We attend a church on Sunday as a celebration of the Resurrection of our Risen Lord, but Saturday my husband and I rest from our business and have a nice family day, not simply because of the input from our Jewish friend, but because we believe this is what the Bible actually teaches.

It depends on how you interpret the NEW MOON as to how and when you keep it. Some say when the moon is black and there is no light just before the first crescent is the New Moon. (Reference http://www.moongiant.com) Others refer to the astronomical charts and see the first light of the first crescent and keep that day as the new moon. However, the Bible tells us to “OBSERVE” the New Moon. I observed it tonight on the 22nd, beautiful it was. Not the first night of the crescent, but the 2nd. Thursday night it couldn’t be seen, Observed.
The new moon on the 21st couldn’t be seen with the naked eye, however if we saw it on the the 22, then I can declare the day of TRUMPETS – Yom Teurah!
FYI: In the AD 900’s Karaite Jews argued with the traditional Jews at that time about when to observe the new moon. The Rabinnical Jews were doing calculations, and the Karaites were going by when they could “see” the new moon. The argument came down to the OBSERVATION OF THE NEW MOON, yes there is the calculation, and then there is the observation. It was such a controversy that women made it a part of the marriage contract that they could observe according to conscience. Why did this controversy die out by 1100? In 1190 the Crusaders (professed Christians) went through Jerusalem and killed Jews, and the Karaite Jews by the thousands.
In the 1950-60’s the Karaite Jews didn’t carry forward the tenants of the Torah. Then along comes Nehemia Gordon, a Karaite Jew, to research and bring back the OBSERVATION of the moon as well as linking it to the Abib to begin the New Year, from which the entire count starts for the Feast days. Why is God bringing up this issue, in 900 a.d. and today? So we can come back to the Torah, and the true calendar that our Lord says he is the author of.
If God expects each person on the planet, the common person, to do this, how is this going to happen? God expects us to OBSERVE…without instrumentation, without calculations. OBSERVE Original Word: שָׁמַר

I’m of Hispanic descent I was told I could only keep noahide laws but something is drawing me strongly to keep God’s laws and we love honoring the Sabbath,please someone help me on what to do thank you

George, I recommend you search the scriptures themselves to find God’s desire for you. Don’t depend only on another person’s teachings or opinions for your truth, but find out whether it consistently lines up with the themes of scripture and what the Spirit is revealing to you through God’s written word.
You will see in these scriptures those of non-Jewish descent are to keep the same laws as Jews (especially Num. 15:15-16).
Those coming out of Egypt and given the Torah were a mixed multitude. They were not only Hebrews.
Finally, when you read about “The Day of the Lord”, there are references to all nations keeping the Sabbath, the First of the Month and the Feast of Tabernacles. Is. 66:23-24 specifies “everyone living”. Why would we not be able to keep them now?
But, I encourage you to seek the Lord and His word for the consistent themes and confirmation of His leading.

For George, in Isaiah, YAHUAH said, and the alien among you, if he honors my Sabbath Day, and obeys my commands, then he is my people, and I am his God. But if he chooses to go his own way, and not, then you are to run him out of your midst. Elsewhere, it says, if you love Me, you will obey my commands. He who is not for Me is against Me. It is actually a sin not to keep the proper Sabbath and not to celebrations and keep the feasts because Almighty YHVH actually commands us to keep them. It is an act of obedience. Especially if you know about keeping Sabbath and the feasts. If you didn’t know at all then Abba will not hold you accountable but if it has been brought to your attention and you now know then in obedience to almighy YaHWeh one must observe and keep them. It is not a coincidence that you now know as our heavenly Father does not work through coincidence but by what HE has ordained from the dawn of time. To each one of us whom Abba Father has revealed and in so very many cases has called to keeping Sabbath and feasts, Abba Father has a purpose, for us to tell and share and to teach others and show them the fullness of ALL scripture. Put aside what so many ministers, pastors, catholic fathers and reverends teach and start searching and studying the scriptures yourselves and be baptised with the Holy Spirit if you are not yet baptised with the Holy Spirit. What is called the Noahide laws are the same laws the Jewish people are commanded to keep. Do not eat blood,. Note: the blood is to be poured on the ground. People buy meat with the blood still in the meat
One has to wash the meat in salt water until all the blood has been removed then you salted with salt and cook it,. Otherwise it’s not kosher.
Not to serve idols ( other God’s) first commandment.
Not to eat strangled animals. This one is being done in the slaughter houses everyday sold to the groucers stores and people buy the meat in groucery stores every day not knowing that it is strangled meat.
There is more to it than calling them the Noahide laws. These laws were given to the children of Israel as commandments to obey.
When they say you have to keep the Noahide laws, In reality by them accepting you is to keep the same laws given to them (Jews)
When you keep what is called the Noahide laws then you will be accepted by the Jews and Rabbi, your house or home will be considered a kosher home for them to dwell in.

I have been keeping the Feasts for several years now and I have a couple of friends who came along to say that I shouldn’t be going by the barley in Jerusalem, along with the new moon, but that I should be going by The Barley growing in my region which is Northern California. Because my friends are going by the California barley, I am keeping the feasts about 1 month earlier by following Jerusalem than they are which causes division among the Believers of course.
I feel that I need to keep the Feasts according to the barley in Jerusalem because that is where the entire Bible takes place is over in the holy land area as well as Egypt and the surrounding areas of Mount Horeb and Sinai. Do you have any light on this? Should we all be keeping the Feasts according to The Barley in our region wherever we live on the planet? They argue yes because it is tied to the Harvest and you can’t have a wave Sheaf unless your barley is ripe and ready to pick. Please reply to my email with your answer, which I would hope is based on the Bible.

That is a tough one, Nicole. Ideally you could both follow the Bible and stay in unity with your congregation. First of all, I assume you have already prayed about it and are following YHVH’s leading. My opinion should only serve as confirmation of what you are already hearing from him, not supersede it.
Because there are various ways to calculate the Hebrew calendar and new moons, I would stay in unity with your congregation, while also lovingly discussing the issue as the opportunity arises, unless or until they are explicitly sinning in their practices. When discussing the Feasts, the Bible often states “when you enter the land” or “when you are living in the land”. Lev. 23 commands the Sabbath and Passover, then prefaces the rest of the Feasts with “When you enter the land” in vs. 9. The same phrase is used in reference to Passover in Exodus 12:25. So technically, since you are not in the land, you are practicing/rehearsing the Feasts, but not held to all of the grain, barley and other offerings, and the same could be said for the date. However, if the Feasts are valid “when we’re in the land” we would be adhering to the Jerusalem seasons. Also, we are commanded to be at the temple in Jerusalem for the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost and The Feast of Tabernacles, which would be another reason for staying on the Jerusalem dates. Personally I believe the feasts are a rehearsal of what’s to come, when Yeshua will rule the world from Jerusalem, so I go by the Jerusalem moons/seasons. But as I said, at this point unity with your congregation is important. You could observe both theirs and Jerusalem’s if you feel YHVH has called you to that congregation, yet is prompting you to follow Jerusalem dates.
I hope this helps shed light on the issue. I’m sure others reading this have opinions that could be helpful as well.

Possibly they were referring to The Feast of Tabernacles and/or the Wedding Feast of the Lamb. Although I’ve never heard them referred to by that name, both of these refer to Yeshua’s return. Read this.

Almighty father Yahweh started creation on the first day called yom Rishon, and on the sixth day called shishi, He finished creation nd rested on seventh day, yom Shabbat, of weeks not on any of the new moon or special appointed times of holy feast. To my understanding, i advise or prefer to keep Shabbat on weekly yom Shabbat to be in a safer side than to count lunnar, maybe the person may not know how to count…. Shalom….

I am so glad to see the truth of FATHER YHWH (F.YHWH) reaching new places and people. THE ALMIGHTY ONE will never let HIS truth slip away, for the truth has a tendency to surface no matter how hard you may compress it.
We must keep the Sabbaths of F.YHWH because HE commanded so, including HIS Statutories, these statutories put YAHSHUA as the centre and the centrality. All who we are lifting and praising is YAHSHUA. F.YHWH had made these Feasts to remind us of HIS valuable ways because HE knows man forget quickly and remembers slowly, as one of the prophetess once stated. These statutories serves as a reminder. The first statutories of the year they remind us that YAHSHUA became a lamb that was slain for all of us and the second Feast of the year remind us that HE is coming back again the second time to take us “home”. No wonder these days most of the “Christians” (Messianic) live as they wish because they have quickly forgotten that YAHSHUA is coming. There is nothing available to remind them of the second coming of the Messiah. RUACH Ha KODESH, yes truly is our reminder but HE remind us on something that we now from the WORD, taught by the WORD (YAHSHUA) [the FATHER shall send you the Councilor, HE will remind you of the things I taught you]. Remember that for us to qualify, according to Revelation, we must keep the commandments and have the testimony of YAHSHUA; sing the song of Moshe and the song of the Lamb. When you enter Yerushalem the gates have the names of the sons of Yakob and the foundation the names of the disciples of YAHSHUA. This shows you that you cannot love the 2nd witness (New Covenant) and hate the 1st (Old Covenant) or try to divide them. No, they are witnessing about the same thing – THE WORD – YAHSHUA Ha MESHIACH.

We must be careful of our day of worship or Sabbath. Remember, YHWH did not name the days, he numbered them. The 7th day is the Sabbath, not Saturday, named in honour of Saturn nor Sunday, named in honour of the Sun. We were warned not to pay homage to the Sun, moon, or the luminaries. Also,. If the modern calender has 365 days in a year. How then do you justify Saturday always being the 7th day? It does not pan out. According to YHWH’s word, there are 364 days in a year and EXACTLY 52 Sabbaths with not 1 day left over.

I do agree with you sir that day begins at sunrise. It ends at sunset which gives 12 hrs in a day. John 11:9. Also see Genesis 1:14 YHWH separated the day from the night. He gave the Sun to rule the day and the moon to rule the night. He also called the Sabbath ‘Sabbath Day’ not Sabbath Night or Sabbath Day and Night.

Moses said to the people, “Remember this day in which you went out from Egypt, from the house of slavery; for by a powerful hand the Lord brought you out from this place. And nothing leavened shall be eaten. On this day in the month of Abib, you are about to go forth.
Ex. 12:1-2 (Read the whole chapter for context)
Now the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, “This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you.”

Is Saturday of the Gregorian calender the true sabbath? or do you calculate weekly Sabbaths with the Hebrew calender also? I Was a Catholic but have now moved to a 7th day adventist church to observe the correct sabbath. I want to find out the true day of our Lord so I can observe it! Thanks.

Ciaron, I appreciate your desire to seek and follow the truth. There was no Gregorian calendar when YHVH sanctified the 7th day as the Sabbath in Genesis and Exodus. The Hebrew calendar is the closest thing we have to what would have been the calendar during those centuries. May the Holy Spirit lead you in to all truth.

Would advise you to be very, very careful of SDA’s doctrine. Do your research very carefully. Yes, they do observe the correct sabbath. My husband and I attended meetings
with them, the more we listened, the deeper we researched and were astonished at some of their beliefs. As I said, please, please do your homework.
PS: I was also brought up in the catholic religion……however, when I learned the truth about that, I also left.

I’ve just seen some evidence recently about using the luni solar calender they call it the creators calender timing the sabbaths from the new moon but I don’t know what to trust?! Plus I can’t find a congregation that fellowships using this calendar.

Yeshua tells us to study to show ourselves approved unto YHWH. I do not agree that Saturday is the Sabbath. The Sabbath is the 7th day. That is the position of the day in the week, not the name of the day. The SDA claim that Saturday is the Sabbath and they go by today’s modern calendar. So what happens if Saturday is not the 7th day of the week. Does it not matter, as long as the day is called Saturday. 2016 began on a Friday which was January 1st, January 2nd was Saturday. And yes, the SDA celebrated that as the Sabbath. To find the only true Sabbath, we MUST search the Lost Books of the Bible (or so they are called) In particular, read the books of Jubilees and Enoch, chapters 70-73. They tell us the the year has exactly 364 days. NOT 365 or 366 or any other amount. They tell us that the moon brings in the months, but that it is sometimes erratic so it does not determine the Sabbath. The Biblical year ends on the Spring Equinox. This is the last day of the year. The very next day, is the 1st day of the New Year, you must count 7 days from that day and there you have your Sabbath. The name of the day does not matter. There are EXACTLY 52 Sabbaths in a year with not one day remaining. Remember, the Sabbath is the 7th day, which is the position ( and that has nothing to do with the lineup on this flawed Gregorian Calendar) of the day in the week and not the name of the day. SATURDAY is named after Saturn. It is Pagan, so is Sunday, named in honor of the Sun, Monday in honor of the moon and so on. Please, if you want to fill the gaps in the modern bibles, research and read the books that have been left out to keep the truth from us. Enoch, Jubilees, Jashar, Wisdom, etc.
Pray to YHWH for guidance in your search for the truth.

I was born into the protestant church, became born again but I could just not settle in the doctrine so drifted from faith, joined the Catholic church for sometime more because of the freedom I felt it gave until I had an opporturtunity to live in Israel, got to know about the Lord´s Feasts and I became very curious to know more, especially when I saw how Jews were committed to the Sabbath and The Lord´s Feasts. I also discerned God really speaking to me as one of reasons I drifted from faith was having grown up fatherless with alot of problems I could not reconcile myself to the teaching of being content with our circumstances only to wait and be happy in heaven, I thought that was very unfair of God as a father to allow us to suffer on earth only to go to be happy in heaven so I told him I cannot accept that and I “left” the faith. Only God took me away from the distraction of my family problems in Kenya to Israel where on the night of 28.12.2008 on the internet as I was listening to Dr Bill Winston of Bill Winston Ministries Chicago, I learned the meaning of the fall of man Genesis 3 and how Jesus restores domininion and a new life to whosoever believes and accepts him as Saviour. I recommited my life to God, got baptised by immersion at the River Jordan on the Day of Firstfruits Bukkrim and since then Ive had an amazing journey of faith. I however do not have a local church as most churches are denominational based, the nearest I got was Seventh Day Adventist Church but I was shocked to hear how anti jews they are seeming to suggest they have replaced Israel in God´s eyes and their interpretation of the Lords Feasts is very different allocating them days from the Secular Calendar. When I asked why they do not use the Hebrew calendar they were very shocked at my ignorance of wanting to go back to the Old Covenant Judaisim just like most people do when they hear I celebrate the feasts and use a prayer shawl. I believe God cannot deny himself therefore I have decided to be patient and keep growing in my faith. It is therefore a joy for me to discover others like me

Hi Charity, am in Kenya too. Am a believer of the Most High. Not in any denomination as the Lord opened my eyes to his truth, I have grown in faith.
My family was brought up in Protestant, but just like you I never felt connected with the Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob until 2013 when he revealed his truth about keeping the Sabbath, the Lord’s feasts.
My children and I do Bible studies at home, since there is no congregation around that is not denominational or keeps the feasts.
Am glad to know am not alone, it was not easy when I stopped going to church. Even family members thought I was being brainwashed, but after reading the lost books of the Bible and much prayer. I have found true faith.

I believe yes. This is what Yeshua was doing in Matt. 26, Mark 14, Luke 22 and John 2. Not only is it commanded repeatedly in the Old Testament, it is a celebration of our own deliverance from the oppression and slavery of the enemy into Yehovah’s ways of abundant life and an anticipation of our eternal promised land to come.

If i remember correctly Yahsua’s true birthdate was durring passover at the same time as the census and not in December like the catholic church made people believe, however I could be incorrect and feel free to correct.

You are on the right track, Zachary. It is most unlikely that Yeshua was born in December on the Gregorian calendar. Even in Israel shepherds do not graze their sheep in the fields in the dead of winter, etc., etc. I’ve heard plausible arguments for the months of Nisan (Spring) and Tishrei (Fall), but never for Kislev (winter). Colossians chapter 2:16-23 and Romans chapter 14 says that born again Christians are free to choose whether or not they wish to observe feast days. None of us is to judge the other on our personal choices. Just because someone did something in Scripture does not mean we have to copy the pattern. We only have to copy the pattern/behaviour if the Bible specifically commands us to. As Christians we are not under the law of Moses. We are under the Law of Christ. If we had to keep all the Old Testament laws, including all the feasts, then there are 612 laws we’d have to keep, including sacrificing animals again! We cannot pick and choose which laws we want to keep. We cannot pick out the feasts and say we must keep those, while ignoring the commands to have a levitical priesthood and offer animal sacrifices, but of course for Christians, that would make the cross of our Lord null and void. Out of the 612 commandments which Israel had to keep, only 9 of them are repeated in the Law of Christ which Christians have to keep. We commonly refer to 10 of those 612 OT commandments as The Ten Commandments, 9 of those 10 are repeated in the Law of Christ. All 10 minus keeping the sabbath are enjoined on Christians. As Paul said in Colossains 2, it is up to the individual to decide whether or not they wish to observe feast days and sabbaths, but none of us must force other people to join with our decisions. When we follow the commands of people who say ‘you must do this and you must do that’ , Paul said we risk losing our rewards because such commands belong to a ‘self-imposed religion’, it’s man-made, not from God. We’re now free to choose whether to keep the feasts or not. Those chapters (Romans 14 and Colossians 2) make an interesting and enlightening read. Much love to you in our Yeshua. 🙂

Many people espouse and believe this. I do not, but will show it here as one of many perspectives on the issue. The easiest rebuttal is that if we are followers of Yeshua, and he kept the commandments perfectly, then we are to strive to keep them perfectly – not to secure our salvation, but because of our salvation, we are now bondservants of YHVH’s. Many people choose to follow Paul, I choose to follow Yeshua. The only laws he completely fulfilled are those related to the priesthood, as our once-and-for-all sacrificial lamb (Heb. 7). Otherwise he did not come to change or do away with the law and none of it shall pass away until it is all fulfilled (Matt. 5:17-20). Regarding the feasts specifically, we will continue to commemorate them in the Millennium (ex. Zech. 14). Why not start now?

Here are some Proof Scriptures. Please read and meditate through the following,
Genesis 2 vs 1–3 The Creator plants a seed. This is His-Story we have no option to change it.
Exodus 20 vs 8–11 The Seedling is growing, to fail the fourth command is to fail at the first, which destroys the one who fails not the tree. The fourth command cannot be changed to become the first day, it has already grown to become the heart of the Tree, the great trunk that holds up all the rest of the tree to come.
Isaiah 56 vs2,4,6,7 The Tree has pleasant Flowers, people who observe the Sabbath please our Great God, YHWH.
Isaiah 58, compare those who do not please YHWH and more pleasant Flowers.
Isaiah 66, the full sized tree, in the end times, still bears those flowers that the Creator takes pleasure in.
Revelation 1 vs 10 was never written to be a doctrinal teaching on the worship of YHWH for all of us to follow, those who hold it up as the foundational verse supporting sunday worship are the ones trying to decieve you. John was merely stating his activity on the Sabbath as per his understanding of Isaiah 58. John was just one of those pleasing Flowers and YHWH blessed him with a clearer vision of His plans for the end times.
You too could receive revelation from YHWH if you were in the Spirit on the Sabbath, the Lord’s Day, the one He delights in, the Day He instituted from the begining, the Day He refers to all the way to the end of His-Story. Jesus tells us that He prays that our flight will not be on the Sabbath when we see the tribulation abomination, Matthew 24 vs 20, even He thinks that we will be worshiping on the seventh day the Sabbath and that refers to the end times that have not fully come yet. In thoes days the mature Tree will give up the final Fruit pleasing to YHWH.

Valerie, I use the Lion & Lamb Ministries calendar. The dates are determined using lunar phase software. The first of each Hebrew month is synchronized to when the new moon would be seen from Jerusalem.
There are really 3 plausible ways to calculate the Hebrew Calendar and Feast dates, which are explained in this helpful Q & A video on the issue:

I do not believe the new moon is the first observed sliver. Ibelieve this tradition was observed post Babylonian captivity and there is no biblical proof of it…only religious leader dictating oral rules post Babylon. I believe it is the conjunction black moon that is the beginning of the month as proven in 1Samuel 20. In verse 18 of this chapter, how food Jonathan and David know that”tomorrow is the new moon”? Because they were observing the final waning visible sliver. The new moon conjunction would be for just a few minutes anywhere in the two day period when the moon odds not seen.

Then take a look at this chart that shows what each Feast involves – the Sabbaths, Gatherings, Offerings and other instructions. For ideas on how to participate in these activities on your own, read this post. For the first couple of years, I used my Sabbath time to study each Feast Day and what it was about. For that I recommend these posts, the resources on this page, and this book.

Its really neat how God can direct you to a page. I am a pastor who has begun a new church plant. I had a service covering the Jewish feasts and how we can enter into a deeper relationship with Jesus. I recently saw a calendar that was in a shape of a circle. Not linear like the Roman calendar. The circular calendar I’ve seen and used is the one on this page. I like that it is at-a-glance and makes the cycle of seasons clear with the feasts included. The one I use for every day planning, etc. is still linear (this one). As a rule, linear thinking is very Greek vs. Hebrew, so you may be right that it would be easier. I’d be interested in seeing the round one you’re referring to if you can provide the website.

Thank you for your question, Anton. Leviticus 23:1-2 tells us that these holy days are not Jewish, but belong to the Lord. They were given to all believers before Jews existed. And, yes, the Lord blesses us with his presence, revelation of himself and constant companionship as we obey his ideas for how he wants to be worshiped.

Kathy, Resting on the Day of Atonement is commanded, fasting is not. We are commanded to “afflict our souls” or in some translations “deny ourselves.” Fasting is one way to do that, but the command is not specific. Think of this day as the prophetic day when Yeshua will judge the nations and separate those who’ve accepted his blood as their atonement from those who have not (Matt. 25:31-46). We are to align with his heart, knowing that day is drawing near. With that in mind, determine how you could express “afflicting your soul” with him.
Regarding the mid week, you will want to try to get the day off if you work, or maybe get away for the day if you work at home. It requires some pre-planning, but do all you can and plan to expand on it next year or for the subsequent feasts. Rearranging your month around the feasts takes some getting used to, but seek God for his guidance and draw near to him on his holy days.

Agreed, Dawn. They are the Lord’s celebration times. I would just add Gen. 1:14, “Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years;'” The Feast dates are based on the moon. He created the timing of the Feasts before there were any Jews, or any people for that matter. So I would say the Jews have based their times around His Feasts.

Read the actual passages in scripture and just do it. The traditions can bog ya down (they’re not bad, but they can be weighty when you’re learning), so focus on the actual commands from God Himself. The fall feasts are over now, so start focusing on the spring feasts. He PROMISES that His command are not too hard for us…They’re new and with all the traditions seem difficult and possibly overwhelming, but they’re not…IF YOU STICK WITH SCRIPTURE. In answer to your question: 1. begin keeping 7th day Sabbath (begins Friday at sundown and ends Saturday at sundown) and 2. being keeping His Feasts. These days to not belong to Judaism….but to God Himself and should be kept by ALL His people.

Carol, that’s wonderful. One correction – the festivals are not Jewish, they are the Lord’s. See Leviticus 23:1. They were given to us before the Jews or Judaism existed. According to Zech. 14:16-18 during the Millennium “it will be the plague with which the Lord smites the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths.” You will receive more of YHVH if you worship him with his feasts and take them on as his instruction to you, rather than for someone else.

The Feast of First Fruits falls on a different date on the Hebrew calendar each year, while Passover stays on the same date on the Hebrew calendar. The year Yeshua was crucified the two were three days apart, but it’s different from year to year.

This has bugged me as well. The only explanation that makes sense to me is that man has messed up the dates whether accidentally or on purpose. The Bible doesn’t say Jesus died on a Friday and resurrected on a Sunday, that is man’s (probably Roman Catholic) interpretation.
In the same way corrupt men changed the dates and even renamed, replaced or removed the Jewish feasts (Easter is named after a pagan deity for example). Daniel 7:25 may have already been fulfilled, at least partially.

Amen!!!!! Lord I have said the same thing! No where in the Bible have I found where we are told to celebrate Christmas! The tree itself is after a Greek god and I’ve still to find where the 10 blue bunny rabbit that lays and hides eggs. Easter or as Paganism says, Ester, which is the goddess of fertility. Asked a pastor the reason Christianity accepted paganism
I was told that’s just the way it is. That is the deceptions it speaks of.

From Biblical text we can see Jesus was crusified right before the sabbath. Most of us look at things in a western way and count a day from 12am – 12pm but this is not the case for Jews as we know the Jewish people observe the sun and moon for their lunar cycle, so if at 8am in the morning the sun raises and then sets at 10am that is one day.
So going back to the death of Christ on the cross, they whole sky went dark the reason it tells us this in scripture is because we all know Friday – Sunday is 2 days but because the sun went dark/set the jewish people would observe this is 1 day, then the sun rose again and Friday evening set.
On the day Jesus was crusified on the cross the sun set twice giving us the 3 Jewish days from Friday – Sunday.
Saying all that though makes no difference at all the only part we should take from the death of Jesus is the Reserection and the promise that ALL who shall believe in him shall not perish but have eternal life as he paid for our sins with the shedding of his blood on the cross

I believe the Hillel Calendar has Passover on April 23-24. You will find other dates based on how various groups reckon the new moon. There are about 3 different calendars observed by different groups. The ones I’ve included here are from the calendar our congregation agreed to follow for the sake of unity. I recommend following whichever one the leader you are submitted to instructs.

The Law never brought about Salvation, but it was always the standard of Yehova’s household for both Israel and the “Alien Sojourner.”
It is impossible by our own means, and it points out our need for a Redeemer, but it was certainly not done away with at the Cross. The Greek word for what was nailed to the Cross is Kairgraphon, and means Record of Indebtedness.
Yeshua in Matt. 5: 17 states “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law…”
Paul in Romans 3: 31 states “Do we then nullify the Law through Faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.
Those two scriptures alone make it clear to me that the Law is still in full effect. This is in harmony with all the Old Testament scriptures where the Lord says, His ordinances and statutes are “forever.”
If one studies the Scripture carefully, one will see that both Yeshua, and Paul were at war with Orthodox Judaism that both denied the Messiah, and had added a variety of their own Rabbinic Traditions. These are the Feasts and Fast days that are of no benefit to the believer in Yeshua, and what He is talking about in Matt 23: 2 “The scribes and Pharisees have seated themselves in the Seat of Moses; therefore all that they tell you, do and observe (Mosaic Law), but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them (Rabbinic Tradition).”
It is clear the Pharisees were not keeping God’s Law; they had made up their own traditions; worst of all, they denied Messiah, of whom all of Tanach ( Old Testament) testified. They were also “bewitching” new believers that Salvation could be attained by adherance to their traditions without Yeshua.
The changes came centuries later, after a severe persecution of Jews and Early Christians by the Roman Church; any thing that seemed “Jewish” was equated with a death sentence. This was the Apostasy spoken of in Scripture.
It is only by His Holy Spirit that we are capable of keeping His Law. It is not a means of earning Salvation, but is done out of a transformed heart, and out of love for Him, and the sacrifice His Son made for us at the Cross.

The name Jesus really has no meaning beyond being a proper name in some cultures. The name Yeshua (the Hebrew name given to God’s son) means “God saves.” Here is a good history of how the name Jesus evolved from Yeshua (or Yehoshua).

Louise… I have to say, I really needed to hear what you had to say. Jesus is my everything, but I have felt so burdened as of late with the idea of rituals and rites, being a gentile believe myself. He said, “Take my burden upon you for my yoke is easy and my burden is light”. Let us not lose sight that if we are under the law, we are not under GRACE. This precious gift can not be purchased with good deeds, but is the most Holy, unspeakable gift of God. Follow as little children, in trust and faith, with the innocence of a child. He said, “Become as this little child, or you shall in no wise enter into the Kingdom of Heaven”. Thank God for His grace and mercy and the power of the blood that conquers all sin and death. He knew every mistake we would ever make and still he stretched out His arms on the cross and died for us. HE DID IT ALL, for me… for you… for all of us who will accept Him. Thank you precious Savior, for knowing all of my flaws, but loving me anyway. Well said Stacey. For all men and women of all nationalities and countries, even for those who would be considered our enemies or Israel’s enemies, Christ is the answer. He calls all to salvation through Him. There are none He would deny if they came in true repentance and sincerity. He would and will accept all of them. That’s what makes Jesus so much more God than any other declared so. That’s what makes Christianity, the “born-again” kind, the only Truth and that’s what makes spiritual re-birth the only means to attain Eternity in Heaven. There are no valid arguments. AMEN!

I am a Gentile believer. I accepted the Lord Jesus as my Saviour just before I was married in 1972 (43 yrs. ago so far) and though I knew of my spiritual Jewish roots, the Gentile Christian church doesn’t enter into that study in much depth, because as we’re taught God doesn’t require us to honor Jewish tradition.
Well, that may be true, however…. knowledge doesn’t hurt. I at least want to know about it…. all it’s purpose and meaning. Jesus (Yesuah, the Messiah) is the Bridegroom, our Bridegroom and we, the church, are His Bride. It’s only right and proper that we should want to learn His root worship traditions, and the Jewish ways. I believe, as for Messianic Jews (those who have received the Messiah Jesus as their Lord and Saviour) learning these things will only enrich our fellowship and walk with Him. I want to honor Him in that.
So I thank you for this website. Our Bridegroom will be coming soon to snatch us away with Him. Though I have accumulated much over the years in the way of “earthly treasures”, I’ll gladly leave it all behind…. to be with Him! I can hardly wait…. I’m so excited! Aside from my earthly husband, Jesus is the best thing that has happened to me in my life-time! I love Him so much!!!!

The fact of the matter is God never made a distinction that I can recall in the Bible how the holy days break down between Jewish believers and gentile believers. Those are God’s approved holy days in Leviticus. Christmas and Easter are not God-ordained holy days; they are syncretism brought in by the Catholic Church when they blended paganism with Christianity. If you recall in Galatians 3:28-29, there is no difference between Jew and Greek, etc. Do not believe that the Old Testament has been superseded by the New Testament. It has not. Doctrine and commands in the Old Testament are valid today except that the bloody sacrifice was fulfilled by Yeshua the Messiah. The New Testament is just a fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy but the doctrine and God’s truth did not change.
The Romish Church has taught error purposely which has crept in belief systems. I recommend studying the Bible and not believing the traditions of man and the lies perpetrated by the Jesuits in order to confuse and mislead Christians.

Hi I am very new to learning about Yahweh I am so scared because I can not find a place where others gather so I can learn as well.I don’t even understand the feast days yet.My husband and I do not want to be left behind or have to go thru the last part of tribulation.I’m sick and its hard for me to get out but I will so I can learn his word.We were Christian most of our lives and never told to keep the feast days cus we were under grace.Aany way I was told about Father Yahweh.Do we need to be baptized in Yahweh since we know about him him? Do we still have time before he comes for his bride? Can you tell me what name of assembly do I look for.I can Google it but do I look under Christian Church or what name do I search for.Thank you for any help you can give us we need help so I found your name and could use your help.

Dolores, it’s not too late, you can still re-align your understanding and your lives to Yahweh’s instructions. I recommend the teaching links included on my Recommended Resources page. You will want to search for a “Messianic” congregation. It may either be Jewish or Christian and be led by either a Rabbi or Pastor, but Messianic is the key word. A good way to determine a true Messianic congregation is one that observes the Sabbath on Saturdays and also acknowledges Yeshua as Lord. If you cannot get out to a congregation or there is not one near you, you my find this article helpful. I know Yahweh will guide and bless you in your pursuit of Him.

Thank you, administrator, for what you posted to Judy. I needed to hear those exact words you gave her. I have been searching and have been led a long time through multiple physical and emotional trauma events and have ached to where I thought I would die. This has been for most of my life. Where I used to ask God to get me through each hour, now I have been nudged by His Spirit to ask for more of Him…more of Him… in all my hours. He led me to be with more of Him by teaching me about His Feasts (which I am seeking to learn and, also, find a local Messianic place of worship and teaching which has been a challenge in this area). This website led me to this exchange and gives me hope to pursue Him more. His short life was meant for our benefit and many things about Him, His culture, His true language and interpretations with the true meanings, His actions, and ways He worshipped His Heavenly Father, His everything basically, most of which is never talked about in main stream Christian churches. I still wonder how they arrive at their dates of manmade observances and disregard days that were observed by Jesus. I feel cheated after all these years and my husband, who is a Bible college graduate and former pastor, is also learning things that were never taught. Maybe, because of the present time of urgency we are in, it’s been suggested that the veil is coming off, the Light has come on, to know secrets of God now revealed from early prophecy and the opening of hearts to receive these teachings as the book of Daniel said would be unsealed? Very few, actually none that I have attended from childhood, of the typical Christian churches have ever mentioned supporting or praying for Israel and helping the suffering Jewish people. So, now I am hungry and thirsting for more of Him who satisfies. And, what you said to Judy about the wonderful things we long for in this life, which can’t provide or satisfy, will be fully realized in Yeshua’s presence. Thank you for being led to write that and not only did you comfort Judy in her sufferings but you instilled the hopeful truth of what is to come. May God continue to bless you. I’m glad you have been encouraged. It is wonderful to see God calling his followers closer by his side through the Sabbath and the Feasts. While I, too, am amazed at how far the church has veered from its roots, many have also been brought to Jesus – and eventually to a Messianic understanding – through the church. God is removing the veil, and it changes our old perspectives very quickly. We have to trust that God has opened our eyes in His perfect timing for the purposes He intends for us on this earth. We’ll have literally an eternity to continue our learning – Praise YHVH!

Looking for information on the Feast of the Trumpets ~ it begins at Sundown on the 13th and goes until Sundown on the 14th? Or it begins at Sundown on the 14th and ends at Sundown on the 15th? Or is it two days beginning at Sundown on the 13th and ends at Sundown on the 15th? Also, when is the unleavened bread offered? We’re newbies!

Some calendars are calculated differently. My congregation follows the dates I’ve listed here, which has the Feast of Trumpets on Sundown 9/14. The Feast of Unleavened Bread is in the Spring starting the day after Passover. I’ll have 2016 dates posted soon.

The annual Sabbath Pentecost also referred to as the Feast of Firstfruits or the Feast of Weeks is the “first” harvesting of souls. God’s plan through Jesus Christ (Y’shua the Messiah) for the spiritual harvest of souls can be seen in the physical harvest seasons in ancient Israel and is pictured through the giving of the Creator’s Holy Days. The wave sheaf offering was commanded by Elohim (God) before any grain could be harvested in the spring. This symbolized Y’shua sacrifice before the giving of the Holy Spirit. The first sheaf of grain was cut and brought to the priest. Then only the priest could wave the single sheaf before God (The Eternal One) to be accepted for the entire congregation of Israel. Jesus was the firstfruit -Wave Sheaf offering – and the 144,000 picture the firstfruits – the earlier, smaller harvest of mankind, represented by the loaves of bread offered on Pentecost. In summary, the wave sheaf offering represents the resurrected Messiah going before the Father for us, becoming our High Priest. The wave sheaf was harvested on Saturday night then it was waved before and accepted by I AM on the first day of the week (Sunday) DURING the Feast\Days of Unleavened Bread (Thanks be to Yah & Y’shua, the Unleavened Bread of Life, our Passover without blemish Who ATONED (AT-ONE-MENT) the human family back to our God, the God of Truth). Jesus went before God and was accepted by God as our wave sheaf offering. This is why the Messiah’s followers could not touch him immediately after the Resurrection until after this occurred.

I have a question, I hope someone can answer regarding the Feast of the Tabernacles:
According to the Bible only the first day of the week of the Tabernacle and the Eighth Day is a Sabbath day, on which we do not work, but we are meant to sleep in our made up tabernacle throughout the whole week and bring meal offerings. I am correct with the way the Bible is indicating it? Next question: most sites for ALL upcoming yearly Feast’s mention
one day earlier than your site did. I live in Canada and the information I got from another Sabbath keeping congregation is for example for the Feast of the Trumpets starting on September 13 at sunset and not as your site mention with September 14.
I am hoping to get a quick reply to that, due to the fact that the feast’s are soon. Thank you.

Yes, Christine, I read the instructions the same as what you’ve stated. I’m not sure the offerings have to be meals or that we have to sleep in the tabernacle. Lev. 23:42 says we are to “live” in them, so do what you can reasonably do, sleeping or waking, it’s all “living.” But, yes, offerings and a tabernacle are both instructed.
Regarding the dates, you will find other dates based on how various groups reckon the new moon. The calendar our congregation uses is a Gregorian calendar overlaid by the Jewish Diaspora calendar and modified to incorporate God’s appointed times as given by Moses and synchronized to start each Hebrew month on the new moon as it would be seen from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. This new moon is calculated using lunar phase software that can pinpoint the moon’s position and phase at any time from any latitude/longitude on earth. There are other correct ways to reckon it as well. We had to agree on one for the sake of unity in our congregation. I recommend following whichever one the leader you are submitted to instructs.

I appreciate your heart, Martha. I have found both Rabbi Jonathan Bernis and Rabbi Kirt Schneider both very helpful in understanding how to reach Jewish people with their Messiah. Both are Messianic Jews themselves. Also Don Finto’s books on the subject were a good starting place. You can find them all online. Obviously, don’t wait to learn how to pray before you start praying. Remember that God loves them and put the desire for them in your heart. He will honor your sincere prayers and you can learn as you go.

The Feast of Firstfruits is always Day 1 of the 50-day count, so Pentecost is actually 49 days after Firstfruits. Depending on which day Passover falls on, Pentecost could be 50 days after Passover, as it was this year: Passover was on a Saturday, Firstfruits was the next day, so Pentecost came 49 days after Firstfruits and 50 days after Passover.

Yes, In Acts 1 it records Yashua telling them to go to Jerusalem and wait, but he didn’t specify 50 days or 7 Sabbaths. The Holy Spirit descended on them as they were gathered for Pentecost/Shavuot, which is 50 days after Firstfruits. How do you read it?

I have been studying The Feasts for a while now. One question that I can never seem to get answered is how to keep them. If Yeshua fulfilled the sacrafical system, then how do we keep Passover? Is the Jewish tradition correct? Should we be holding a traditional jewish Sadar? Thank you!

sso620, I’ve created this simple quick reference chart to show what each feast involves Biblically: 2015 Appointed Times at a Glance. The instructions included here would suffice as far as probably a minimum of how to keep the feasts. Remember, the feasts are for remembering what YHVH has done for us, gaining more insights about him and Yeshua, staying in his rhythm and aligned with his “seasons” and also rehearsing for what’s ahead. Yeshua, as our Passover Lamb for all time, is now mediating the priesthood for us vs. a temple with priests and animal sacrifices. But offerings involve more than just bringing animals to the temple – thanksgiving, praise, monetary, spending time in his presence, etc. A traditional Jewish seder contains many great ways to remember Yeshua’s gift of redemption and salvation. I recommend a Messianic Haggadah like this one:

Carl,it’s tough to improve on the Bible’s instructions for commemorating the feasts. In this document, 2015 Appointed Times at a Glance, I note the basic instructions for each Feast (see page 2 for the Fall Feasts). Education before the Feasts on the importance/relevance for commemorating them would be required if your congregation has not done this in the past.
Obviously, seek the Lord about what he would have you do first. My ideas would be to provide a place for people to gather on the appropriate dates, maybe choose a charity people can donate to for offerings (often we provide a basket for food donations for the local food bank – something everyone can afford to do).
Think about what you would do if you were on your own for your first time, commit to doing it, announce what you’re doing and invite anyone who wants to participate to join you. (This may be easy if you do indeed meet at your house, as your email indicates.) People could come to whichever ones they want/can. Taking a Sabbath day of rest/no ordinary work on the exact day can be more challenging, but maybe start by setting aside a few hours just for time with God on those dates.
My first year or two of observing the feasts, the feast days were mostly spent studying what each one was about as it came up. (i.e. I printed off articles from authors I trusted on the Feast of Trumpets and poured over them on the day of Feast of Trumpets.) On that day I’d pray for God to show me what the Feast was about, and of course read any references to that Feast from the Bible. The next year, I had a frame of reference to start from and could plan ahead and enter into more of it year after year. That might be an easy way for your group to learn about them together without going to a lot of extra work. (And of course food always makes a feast! – except for the Day of Atonement, which is traditionally a fast day.)
I hope that helps to give you ideas on how to start with your congregation.

Yes, Yahushua Messiah was sacrificed as a Passover lamb once and for all but we need to observe it yearly to remind ourselves of the day YHWH set us free from every form of satanic slavery and be thankful for the significance. By celebrating it you can use the opportunity to pray to YHWH to set a sinner free from satanic slavery of any kind through King Yahushua .

The feasts are prophetic signs regarding the first and second coming of Messiah. The Spring feasts were all fulfilled in the first coming of Jesus. He was the crucified lamb on Passover, put into the ground at unleavened bread, and resurrected on the day of First Fruits. The Spirit was poured out on Shavuot, or Pentecost. The fall feasts speak of the Lord’s return. Trumpets warn of the coming judgments on the earth and the return of Messiah, and possibly the time of the rapture of the church. The day of atonement speaks of two events: (1) the day the anti-Christ becomes the abomination that brings desolation, and steps in to the temple and declares himself to be God. The day also speaks of the return of Jesus to Jerusalem where He will establish His throne and will reign there for 1000 years. The Feast of Tabernacles speaks of two events as well: (1) When Jesus appears in the sky and the Jewish people, who have fled Jerusalem for tabernacles in the wilderness, gaze upon the one they have pierced and mourn as for an only son. Then Jesus seals them so as to protect them from the wrath of God that follows. Tabernacles also signifies the celebration of the King in Jerusalem when all the nations of the earth flood into Israel for the first feast of tabernacles of the new millennium.

The threads are interesting. This is my first time visiting. Part of the confusion related to the resurrection of Yeshua HaMashiach is the blending of the Jewish calendar with our modern calendars. The Jewish Biblical calendar did not have Sabbath as Saturday or the first day of the week as Sunday. The calendar used by Jews was lunar. Therefore the sighting of the new moon was the first day of the month. Seven days into the new month was the Sabbath. Therefore the Sabbaths were seventh day, fourteenth day, twenty first day, etc.. First Fruits is the first day after the Sabbath. Therefore when HaMashiach was raised the first day of the week it was after the Sabbath. It was insightful your statement about our Savior being the First Fruit from the dead. It is also just as insightful to know that G-d rested on the Sabbath therefore the resurrection would not have happened on the Sabbath. I have read that the reason Jews do not celebrate Sabbaths based on the New Moon as given in the Bible is because of the confusion it would cause with daily commerce with a Sabbath falling on any day of the week.

So, Pentecost falls on the day after the 7th Sabbath after Passover? I’m sure this is probably explained somewhere here but I just started here. Thanks for your post and this site. Regina, yours is a good question, debated by Christians and Jews. You will need to seek God for guidance. My opinion is that the answer stems from how you define an Israelite or Jew. Rom. 2:28-29 tells us, “A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code.” 1 Cor. 7:19 says, “Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God’s commands is what counts.” Both of these imply that if you are a worshiper of God, your ethnic heritage is not the determining factor of whether you should keep his commands. Personally, I believe following the commands are so rich a lifestyle, why would I choose to do the bare minimum required just because I’m not of Jewish descent? I would encourage you to take part in the feasts as much as you can and ask God to use them to reveal himself to you. He will honor your desire to draw near to him through his commands. Thank you for information on the feasts. I am just coming into knowledge and why we celebrate and observe the feasts. I appreciate the site and information. I had studied and was led some years back but didn’t quite understand. I have a thirst to observe what Jehovah has set for me to know and observe. Now, in observance (and I don’t have a church home per se) where am I to follow through in the celebration of the feasts?

Sheila, I would recommend you do all that you can without an assembly (holy convocation). You can still observe a Sabbath, give an offering to Jehovah (doesn’t have to be monetary), eat unleavened bread, etc. Do what you know to do and ask Jehovah to reveal to you the path he has for you. Remember, the point of the feasts is to observe the days as holy, as Jehovah does. Spend the Sabbath days with him even if you can’t spend it with other believers. May he bless you as you pursue his ways.

Karen, you are right – when someone calls our Messiah Jesus, I also call him Jesus when I’m talking to them. My goal is to meet them where they are and bring them along, not correct them on every point. I called on Yeshua as Jesus for 35 years, and he was patient in answering me. I believe once people understand the Hebrew roots of their faith, their complete vocabulary will change, including how they refer to the Messiah, as it did for me. Thanks for your passion in using his Hebrew name!

Why did you, as many Americans do, use the name Yeshua for our Redeemer? The family name is YAH = I was, am and will be, in other words: The Eternal and Our Creators Name is Yahweh, his Son’s Name is consequently: Yashua or Yahushua which means: Yahweh is our (eternal) Salvation. We are free and requested to call Father and Son by Their Holy Names. Yeshua means nothing and Jesus has been derived from the Greek god isous, their god of healing…..

In the New Testament scriptures Jesus never called him any name but FATHER and we are instructed to call no man Father as well.When the apostles asked Jesus how should we pray Jesus then gave them what we call the Lords prayer”Our FATHER which are in heaven hallowed be thy name…” The scriptures say that our FATHER will have a new name and he will write it upon us.Scriptures write that we have been calling him pagan names he says one day you will call me ishi husband.I am not sure aboult that name Yahweh but Jesus said my father and your FATHER..I call him FATHER.

let me first say I found this by going to Nehemiah Gordon who I have great respect for in accuracy of feast days and Hebrew understanding. I don’t know if I will find it again. I have to commend Richard Roeders for knowing correct Names and spelling of the Father and Son of which THERE IS NO OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN BY WHICH WE ARE OR CAN BE SAVED! Yahweh or some may be correct with YaHoVah . But just as important the Name of our Messiah Whose very Name means our Salvation is None other than Yahu.shua! I hope all who read this correct information will understand that you cannot be saved by what many think is jesus notice I did not capitalize it because it is not the Name of our Messiah! After the catholic church got through burning our Bibles and giving back their translations they had no intentions of us being saved so they tried through Constenine to make us think the one to save us was called jesus. with that name they included December 25 for pagan Christmas birthday also easter which are both honoring pagan gods tammuz and isthar. I encourage all who read this to do their homework and study to show yourselves approved for what the real Truth of the Bible says. All who think jesus is the name to trust in will be sadly disappointed when our Messiah says depart from me I never knew you you workers of lawlessness! Thapelo, it looks like you’ve seen my articles on the subjects of the Feasts. If you are unable to get a copy of the book I recommend, “The Feasts of the Lord”, you might begin with putting the dates listed on this page on your calendar as God’s holy days and print this reference guide, which lists all the commands for observing them. I started by using those days to seek God and to study what each day meant to Him, so that I could line up with His spirit on each day. I kept a diary of my learnings, so I could continue with it the next year. If you are diligent in making the effort to do what you know, God will guide you and provide you revelation directly. May God bless you in your pursuit of His truth.

I think I need to question the fact that Jesus rose on Sunday. The fact that Jesus states in Matthew 13:40 “for as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth”. He states 3 days and 3 nights, not partial days and nights. The day is 12 hours, and the night is 12 hours. A biblical day runs from sunset to sunset. If Jesus was crucified on Friday and rose on Sunday, as many are taught, the time frame makes this verse untrue! Jesus was crucified on a “high” sabbath day. See John 19:31-37 (KJV). This was an annual Sabbath, not a weekly sabbath. It was the sabbath before Passover. Jesus was our Passover Lamb. I believe Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday, was laid quickly in the tomb before sunset, and just before sunset ( 72 hours later) which would be Saturday, Jesus was Resurrected from the dead. When the women arrived at the tomb to annoint his body very early Sunday, the stone had already been rolled back, Not to let him out, but to let the women in to see the empty tomb. The angel then tells them to inform the disciples, especially Peter, that Jesus is ALIVE!
If I believe the Friday crucifixon, and Sunday resurrection, then the bible is not true.

Carol, you are right, there are various ways to calculate it. I shouldn’t definitively say Yeshua rose on Sunday, it could have been Saturday on the Hebrew calendar. I agree with you, Friday doesn’t add up correctly. Whether you believe Yeshua rose on Saturday or Sunday, the command to observe the Feast of Firstfruits in Ex. 23:9-11 includes the day – “on the day after the Sabbath.” which makes the observance of it a Sunday. Given that Yeshua died on the exact day of Passover, and the Holy Spirit was poured out on the exact day of Pentecost, It would follow that Yeshua’s resurrection took place on the exact day of Firstfruits, which would be why we are to observe that day, but the Bible does not say specifically, so we are left to our own calculations. You are right, Mr. Charles, Nisan is the first month of the Hebrew calendar (Exodus 12). Most Christians do not realize that. I would agree that wishing people a happy new year could be a conversation starter regarding the Hebrew calendar and God’s instructions.

If Passover is April 14/15 this year, why is it that you stated above to Myra that Jesus rose on April 20, the day of the feast of the firstfruits…wouldn’t it be 3 days and 3 nights after the Passover?

Judy, thank you for your intelligent question. This confuses many people because we are used to our holidays falling on the same day of the week each year. Here is the explanation:
Passover is always on Nisan 15 (according to Lev. 23:5). Since Shavuot must be on a Sunday 50 days from First Fruits (Lev. 23:15-16), First Fruits is always scheduled for the Sunday after Passover. This causes the number of days between Passover and First Fruits to change from year to year. First Fruits is based on a day of the week and Passover is based on the date and moves from day to day on the calendar each year. The year Jesus died and rose, First Fruits did fall 3 days after Passover – remember Jesus rose on a Sunday, which would’ve been the first Sunday after Passover which made that Sunday the Feast of First Fruits that year.
It’s no wonder it’s confusing! I hope that helps explain it.

Luke 24:1 tells us, “On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.” The first day of the week on the Hebrew calendar is the same as the Gregorian calendar – a Sunday. One difference, on the Hebrew calendar a day goes from sundown to sundown, so Sunday would’ve begun on what the Gregorian calendar refers to as Saturday night. Practicing the feasts is a wonderful way to learn more about YHVH.

Jesus was crucified on Passover and rose from the dead on the Feast of First Fruits. This year it falls on April 20. In Leviticus 23:9-14 it is established as the day the Israelites bring the first of their produce from the first crop of the year to the temple as an offering. The understanding is that as the first of their produce was accepted by God, so would the rest of the crop be. This is symbolic of Jesus being the first acceptable offering to God and the first to rise from the dead, indicating that the rest of Jesus’ followers would also be acceptable to God and rise from the dead, as stated in 1 Cor. 15:20-23. I observe it by meditating on the implications of Jesus’ resurrection and by bringing an offering of my resources to God. Thanks for your question, Myra. Jerry, You are right, there are various ways these dates are calculated. For the sake of unity, the congregation I attend has agreed to follow the Messianic Calendar put out by Lion and Lamb Ministries. Here is how that is calculated: The Gregorian calendar is overlaid by the Jewish Diaspora calendar and modified to incorporate God’s appointed times as given by Moses and synchronized to start each Hebrew month on the new moon as it would be seen from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. This new moon is calculated using lunar phase software that can pinpoint the moon’s position and phase at any time from any latitude/longitude on earth. I echo the statement included in their calendar, “Our calendar is not perfect, but our hope is that all Messianic believers who use our calendar will learn to keep the Sabbaths and the feasts in the way that the Lord has impressed upon us individually.”

The next new moon appears on Friday, September 6, 2013 after the sun sets. The moon will be setting just a couple of hours after the sun, so there is a small timeframe in which to actually view it on the Western horizon after the brightness of the sun has diminished. A biblical new moon begins on the first day of each Hebrew month. September 6 is the first day of the seventh month on the Hebrew calendar – the month of Tishrei. Tishrei 1 is also the day of the Feast of Trumpets referenced in Lev. 23:23-35. You can see all the New Moon dates for 2013 here.
